Part-Time Member Advisor - VMRC Branch

As a Member Advisor you would work directly with Park View members on a wide variety of services and advise them how to best use our products and services to meet personal financial goals. You would help them with their transactions, open new accounts, work with them on loans, and take care of all the other needs they have in their personal finances. We want you to build relationships with our members so when they have a financial need, they think of you first—because you have already shown them you are an active listener and can help solve their problems.

We expect every member to have a great experience when they work with a Member Advisor and in order to do this, you’ll need to learn a lot about our products and services to help the member determine which will help them reach their goals. We have a great training program in place to get you there as quickly as possible, but it will take a lot of effort on your part.

We are looking for someone that loves to make people happy—especially our Park View Members. They are a great group, and we want someone who will give them an extra smile during their day so they leave happy.

We are also looking for someone who will enhance our already great work environment—someone who loves working as a team, learning new things, being creative, solving problems, working hard, and having fun while doing so.

This part-time position will be between 24-28 hours per week at our VMRC (Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community) branch.  Open hours of the branch are 10-2 Monday through Thursday, and 10-3 on Friday.  The Member Advisor will also work every other Saturday morning at our Broadway branch.

What else does it take to be a Member Advisor?

  • Six months to two years of related experience. This might be working in any kind of retail establishment or customer service position. Of course, experience as a teller would be nice.
  • Ability to be flexible with hours and days off. We try our best to accommodate your needs, but we need to be fully staffed and ready to serve members Monday through Saturday.
  • A college education preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with financial products and services is a big plus! This includes sound management of personal finances too.
