This holiday season, Park View Federal Credit Union made a meaningful impact in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, donating $12,000 to three remarkable local nonprofits through its annual Spirit of Giving initiative. This program reflects the credit union’s commitment to strengthening community connections and supporting causes that matter most to its employees and members.
An Employee-Driven Tradition
What sets the Spirit of Giving initiative apart is its employee-driven approach. Each year, team members nominate nonprofits they’re passionate about, then vote to select the top three organizations to receive donations. This year, $4,000 was awarded to each of the chosen nonprofits, ensuring the contributions align with the team’s shared values and community ties.
Park View representatives personally presented the checks to the organizations, celebrating their inspiring work and reinforcing the belief that when neighbors support one another, the entire community grows stronger and more resilient.
Meet the 2025 Spirit of Giving Recipients
We are thrilled to introduce the three organizations our employees chose to support this year. Each one provides essential services that uplift and strengthen our community in unique ways.
Isaiah 117 House Rockingham Co VA – Isaiah 117 House provides a safe, home-like environment for children entering foster care. Instead of waiting in an office, children are welcomed into a comforting space where volunteers offer meals, clean clothes, blankets, and emotional support. This allows children to feel secure and cared for while caseworkers focus on finding the right foster placement.
COSPU – COSPU works to empower immigrant families by providing support, leadership mentoring, cultural and civic education, and advocacy. Their goal is to create a community where immigrants can pursue their dreams, live with dignity, and be recognized for their contributions. Through partnerships with pro-immigrant organizations across Virginia, COSPU offers services that promote respect, equality, and opportunity for all.
Still Meadows Enrichment Camp and Center – Still Meadows Enrichment Center and Camp is dedicated to providing a supportive environment for children and adults with disabilities. Through year-round therapeutic activities in a tranquil country setting, they nurture physical, emotional, and spiritual health while offering families and caregivers valuable time to rest and renew.
A Commitment to Community Values
The Spirit of Giving campaign goes beyond simply writing a check. It reflects Park View’s passion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our members and the communities we serve. By inviting employees to participate at every stage, the credit union creates a culture of engagement and ensures its giving truly resonates with the needs of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
“At Park View, we believe that building stronger communities begins with uplifting the people and programs driving positive change every day,” said Krista Westfall, Director of Marketing at Park View Federal Credit Union. “When we give our team members a voice in the donation process, our support is a true reflection of what matters most—both to our employees and to the communities we serve. We are thankful for the essential work these organizations accomplish and honored to help further their missions as they create a lasting impact.”
These donations will empower each nonprofit to sustain and expand its essential services, ensuring ongoing support for those in need. Park View remains committed to growing the Spirit of Giving tradition, deepening its partnership with the community, and helping create lasting, positive change for years to come.
